How our cooking oil collection works
Four steps, no admin and nothing for you to pay. You store the oil in drums we supply, we turn up on your fixed day, measure it in front of you and pay you per litre.
- 1
Sign up
Send your postcode and a rough idea of how much oil you get through in a week, either through the booking form or on WhatsApp. We confirm your collection day, set you up as a customer and drop off sealed drums in the right size for your kitchen. There is no charge for any of that, no contract to sign and no minimum volume to commit to.
- 2
Fill and store
Let the oil cool fully, ideally overnight, then pour it into the drum through the moulded neck. Fill to the shoulder rather than the brim so the lid still seals and one person can move it safely. Keep water, cleaning chemicals and heavy debris out, because all three reduce what the load is worth. Nothing else is asked of your team.
- 3
We collect on your day
Your driver arrives on the same day each week or fortnight, measures the oil in front of your staff so you can see the figure being produced, pays you cash per litre on the spot and leaves clean empty drums behind. That measured figure is the one that appears on your paperwork, so payment and compliance record always agree. Filling up faster than expected in a busy week? Call or message before noon and we will add an extra pickup.
- 4
Get your paperwork online
Each visit generates a digital waste transfer note in your secure online account, recorded alongside the date and the litres collected. You are legally required to keep these for at least two years and to produce them on request, so having them a login away rather than in a drawer of fading receipts is the difference between a two-minute inspection and an awkward one.
That is the whole process. No contract, no tie-in, and if we stop being worth having you can leave.
How quickly we can start
- Minutes Typical response time. We usually ring you back right after your enquiry lands
- Next day First collection as standard, same day if you are urgent
- Same day Extra pickups when your drums fill early. Just call before noon
Free drums in the size you actually need
Every container is supplied free, sealed against leaks and smells, and swapped for a clean empty at every collection.
25 litre sealed drum
Built for cafes and single-fryer kitchens. Light enough for one person, fits under a counter, and we pay per litre on it exactly as we would on a wheelie bin.
60 litre drum
The size most kitchens settle on. Around 55kg when full, so it is a two-person lift, which is why we fill to the shoulder rather than the neck and swap rather than decant. Suits a kitchen running one or two fryers through a normal week.
240 litre wheelie bin
Wheeled, so nobody has to lift anything. Built for chip shops and high-volume fryers where a drum would be full by midweek. It rolls out to the van on collection day and a clean empty rolls back in.
IBC, up to 1,000 litres
For food producers and central kitchens generating oil at industrial volume. Supplied on request once we have seen your site, since an IBC needs a level standing area and clear access for the pump.
What we collect, and what we do not
The rule of thumb is simple: anything that has cooked food, yes; anything from a workshop, no. Mixing the two contaminates the whole drum and can get a load rejected, so when in doubt, message us a photo before it goes in.
We collect
- Used vegetable and sunflower oil
- Rapeseed, olive and blended frying oils
- Fryer, wok and pan oil
- Beef dripping, lard and ghee
- Mixed kitchen fats and greases
We don't collect
- Engine, motor or gearbox oil
- Hydraulic and lubricating oils
- Industrial or insulating oils
- Food waste
How often will we come?
Frequency follows your output, not a contract. The table below is where most kitchens start, and it is only a starting point: move between weekly and fortnightly whenever your trade changes, pause over a closure, or add a one-off pickup when a bank holiday weekend fills you up early. None of that costs anything.
Not sure of your volume? Pick "Not sure" on the booking form and we will size it up on the first visit, then adjust as we go. Our guide to storing used cooking oil safely covers how much to keep on site, and the frequently asked questions answer the rest.
What size drum do you need?
Two questions and you will know roughly what we would bring and how often we would come. Nothing is sent anywhere, this runs entirely in your browser.
Roughly what you would produce
36 litres a week
An estimate to start the conversation, not a quote. We size it properly on the first visit and change it free of charge whenever your trade changes.
