Used cooking oil collection for community kitchens and clubs

Kitchens that cook for a hall rather than a till: community centres, sports and social clubs, and volunteer-run catering. Free collection, no minimum, and documentation your trustees or committee can file.

A community kitchen cooks in bursts. Nothing for three weeks, then four hundred covers on a Saturday. It is usually run by volunteers rather than trained kitchen staff, it rarely has a waste budget, and the person who dealt with the oil last time may not be the person dealing with it this time. What that combination needs is a container that is safe for someone who is not a chef, a collection that can be booked when it is actually needed, and a record a committee or a trustee can put in a file.

What makes community kitchens and clubs different

Volume that arrives all at once

Book a collection around your event calendar rather than a weekly slot you do not need. Tell us the dates you are cooking and we plan the pickup for the week after.

No budget for waste

Collection is free, the drums are free, and you are paid per litre for whatever we take, however little that is. For a kitchen funded by a hall hire and a raffle, that is the difference between a cost and a small contribution.

Volunteers, not chefs

We supply the 25 litre drum by default here, because it is light enough for one person and it will not be left half full for six months. It comes with a written note on cooling and filling that can be pinned up for whoever is on duty.

Records for a committee

Every collection is documented with the date and the litres. If you are answerable to trustees, a management committee, an insurer or a local authority as a hall licensee, the evidence exists without anyone having to keep a book.

Typical volume

Event-driven. Most community kitchens fill a 25 litre drum over a handful of cooking days, so collections are usually monthly or booked around the calendar.

Questions

What community kitchens and clubs ask most

Is there a minimum amount of oil before you will collect?

No. We collect and pay from your very first drum, whatever your volume, with no threshold to clear before you start earning from your oil. If you are a cafe filling a 25 litre drum a fortnight, you are as welcome as a chip shop filling a wheelie bin every week.

Do you provide drums or containers?

Yes, free of charge and sized to your kitchen: 25 litre and 60 litre sealed drums, 240 litre wheelie bins for high-volume fryers, and IBCs of up to 1,000 litres for food producers. The 25 litre drum suits cafes and smaller kitchens, and we pay per litre on it just the same. We swap every container for a clean empty at each collection, so there are no leaks, no smells and nothing for your team to clean.

What paperwork do I get and how do I access it?

Every collection generates a digital waste transfer note, stored in your secure online account. Log in at any time to download waste transfer notes and view your full collection history, with dates and litres collected. When an EHO or council inspector asks for your waste documentation, it is all there in seconds.
